Chan –Chan was born on the 27th June 1992 in the Kompong Speu Province. He has seven brothers and two sisters. His parents are both still alive but his father lost his leg so could not earn money to send his children to school. He arrived at S.C.A.O in March 2010 and has quickly integrated into the family. Chan currently attends secondary school in Grade 10 and his English skills are coming along quickly as he attends regular classes at S.C.A.O. He enjoys playing football and is a member of the S.C.A.O football team. We are currently looking for a sponsor to help fund his schooling.

Chin Long – Chin Long was born on the 1st April 2007. He is Mr. and Mrs. Samith's child and Srey Lia's younger brother. A strong and boisterous child, he provides constant entertainment around the centre. Chin Long is learning English well from the other children and volunteers. He will attend public school when he is six years old.
Hom – Hom was born on the 15th April in the Kompong Tom Province. He has one sister and four brothers. His father was killed fighting against the Khmer Rouge. He has been at S.C.A.O since December 2008 which has made it possible for him to finish his secondary school studies. He is currently at University, studying to become a veterinarian. Hom has a high level of English and spends six evenings a week teaching English to the higher level students at S.C.A.O. He is a great teacher, has a good sense of humor, is polite and helpful. Hom enjoys playing football with the other boys and is a member of the S.C.A.O football team. We are currently looking for a sponsor to help fund his university studies.
Leap – Leap was born on the 15th March 2000 in the Bati district. He has two sisters. His father died fighting the Khmer Rouge when he was two years old. Leap's mother was unable to afford to look after the children so his sisters went to live with an aunt and Leap and his mother came to S.C.A.O where he is given the opportunity of an education and his mother cooks for the entire centre. Leap attends public school in Grade 1 and regular English classes at S.C.A.O. He is a fun, playful child with a great personality and a big smile! He enjoys playing football and is very good at drawing.
Lee Mai – Lee Mai was born on the 15th November 2004. Nita is her older sister. She also has one older brother who lives with the family in the Takeo Province to support their parents. She is the youngest female child who lives with the Samith family. She is currently attending public school in Grade 3 and English lessons at S.C.A.O. She has a good level of English for her age, is a happy child and can usually be found laughing, playing and having fun with Chin Long. We are currently looking for a sponsor to help fund her schooling
Li – Li was born on the 7th July 1997 in the Kompong Tom Province. He has one sister and two brothers. As he comes from a very remote area where education is not accessible he came to S.C.A.O. Li currently attends the public school in Grade 7. A diligent and well mannered boy he has a good level of English and is always helpful. Li enjoys playing football and is a member of the S.C.A.O football team. We are currently looking for a sponsor to help fund his schooling.
Lakana – Lakana was born in 2002 in Takeo Province. Srey Jen is her older sister and they are the newest arrivals to the family. Before arriving at S.C.A.O they were living with their elderly grandfather who couldn’t provide for them after their father died and their mother left the village. The girls were often absent from school as it was their responsibility to feed the family by catching crabs and snails and selling them at the local market. Living at S.C.A.O has given Lakana the opportunity to attend school regularly. Due to her amazing study ethic she is picking up English very quickly and is in 4th Grade at Khmer school. Lakana is very helpful around the house and loves jump rope and playing with the other kids. We are currently looking for a sponsor to fundLakana’s schooling.
Ly – Ly was born on the 14th July 1999 in the Takeo Province. He has 1 sister and 3 brothers and his family was under severe financial distress. In 2008, S.C.A.O. made it possible for him to start attending Public School in the 5th Grade. Ly is very mature and has a good level of English, as well as a good sense of humor with it. As well as spending time improving his English, Ly also likes playing football. We are currently looking for a sponsor to help fund his schooling.
Ngorl Lion – Lion was born on the 3rd April 2994 in the Kampong Tom Province. He has one sister and four brothers. His father was killed fighting the Khmer Rouge and his mother could not afford to send Lion to school. Thanks to S.C.A.O he is currently attending secondary school in Grade 12. Lion is a very mature, responsible, calm and gentle young man who is dedicated to his studies and speaks a high level of English. He enjoys playing football and listening to music – especially Bob Marley! We are currently looking for a sponsor to help fund his schooling.
